In the Spotlight - Jeremiah Blue and Shawn

What is better than one beautiful BJD girl? Two! Jeremiah Blue and Shawn are interviewed by the lovely Sher in this month's Spotlight. We are sure they will have you giggling as only two best friends can.

Interview with the Two Minis: by Sherry (sher on DOA)

Fashion Credits:
Eyes: Jeremiah Blue is wearing Round 1 Ryung's default glass eyes. Shawn is wearing 14mm Artistique.
Shoes: Shawn's shoes are by Souldoll; Jeremiah Blue's sneakers by Dream of Doll.
Clothes: Shawn's outfit is by Puppy Love (chun on DOA); Jeremiah Blue is wearing a tank by Debwest, a Tonner Tyler boutique shrug, and her skirt and white leggings are by onegreyelephant on DOA.
Wigs: Jeremiah Blue and Shawn are both wearing wigs by Monique. JB's is my favorite Monique wig, Natalie, in brown black; Shawn's is another favorite, Hannah, in golden auburn.
Makeup: Shawn was painted by the amazing artist and friend Cindy Gay. Jeremiah Blue is the default "Jerome Girl" from a year ago; I did bump up her blush, gave her lashes, and darkened her brows a very teeny bit, but otherwise she's default. (I like the older default makeup better than the new! I feel very lucky I have Jeremiah Blue.)
Statistics: Jeremiah Blue is a Jerome Girl on the regular girl Bluefairy body. Shawn is a Dream of Doll Bee-A. Their ages vary depending how I dress them; JB is at her youngest, about 8; at her oldest, around 11. Shawn is around 13-14.

JB = Jeremiah Blue; S = Shawn.
I caught up with my two mini girls, Jeremiah Blue and Shawn, on their way to school one day.

Sher: Guys, I wanted to do an interview with you two; you're going to be in a doll magazine! Isn't that great? I'm so honored! Do you have a few minutes to talk?
S: A DOLL magazine?!? Oh, Squee! Do I look all right? Will there be pictures? Oh, Squee!
JB: I really wish you hadn't told her that part. She's going to be squeeing in my ear all day now.
Sher: So, Jeremiah Blue, since you were the first BJD in the house here, what are your impressions of living with me?
JB: Well, good gravy, there are dolls EVERYWHERE. Creepy ones, too, like Tiny Kitty and Tonners and stuff; they don't talk, they just sort of… stand around like they're waiting for the subway or something. I remember when Sher first got me, she didn't quite know what to make of me! I think I took a little getting used to. She said she almost got a May but then she saw my picture on some Korean fan site and knew I was the one for her. She loves me the best.
S: She does NOT! She loves ALL of us!
JB (shrugs): Okay, whatever lets you sleep at night.
S: Well, *I* was sort of rescued. Sherry cared enough about me to give me a home when I didn't fit in very well where I was at first.
Sher: Okay, okay… I really do love ALL of you. I always say there is room enough in my heart for everybody. Can you tell me, Shawn first, what are some of your favorite things?
S: Anything PINK! And puppies and kittens and tiny things. Oh - and clothes and shoes, I love getting dressed up. And-
Sher: Okay, Shawn - thank you. Jeremiah, How about you?
JB: I like plaid…and punky clothes. Sometimes I think the frilly stuff is okay but I really don't want to wear it all the time. I love to read. And my sister Sabrina is the best.
S: And Jeremiah Blue likes corkscrews.
JB: Will you shut up about that?
Sher: Um -- and how about things you don't like? Shawn?
S: The color yellow. And olives. And I don't like people who wear real fur. And-
Sher: Okay, Shawn - thank you again. Jeremiah?
JB: I don't like mean people. Or asparagus. And I don't like olives either.
S: Really? I never knew that!
JB: You don't notice I slip them into YOUR salad every time we eat out?
S: That's YOU??!? I kept wondering why my salads had so many %&$* olives in them!
Sher: Okay, girls - please - let's see, I'd like to ask you who is your best friend. Jeremiah?
JB: Shawn is my best friend.
S: …Really? I… I didn't know that! But you beat me up all the time!
JB: We're just playing, you know that! I love to play with you, you're fun. We like to play with trucks and dolls and with Juniper Snowpea.
S: I didn't know you thought that! (Grabs Jeremiah to hug her)
JB: Hey! Geroff me! Sheesh, say one nice thing to you and you get all weepy! Leggo!
S: Oh, Jeremiah Blue, I love you too! You're my very best friend!
JB: OMG, let go! Don't make me hurt you, you hopped-up prom queen wannabe!
S: Ow! C'mon just let me hug you! Ow!

At this point, the interview pretty much fell apart. Jeremiah and Shawn tussled for a while, which resulted in lost shoes and messed up hair. They almost missed the bus for school; I think Shawn's wig is still on backwards. Sigh. My two precious little girls.

Their personalities are really pretty much based on their appearance. Jeremiah Blue doesn't look angry to me at all; she looks somewhat pouty, but she isn't mean, and in certain wigs and angles she does smile sometimes. I think of her as intelligent and stubborn, but with a very naughty side (she loves practical jokes) and she has a very dry humor. She's wiser than her young years. Shawn is just so pretty, with her little pointy nose, sweet mouth, and beautiful brows; she isn't much of a deep thinker but she isn't stupid, either. She's just straightforward, loving, and cheerful, which sometimes bugs Jeremiah a bit (she often calls Shawn a "demented cheerleader"). I have a few pictures of Shawn where she looks positively introspective, and it startled me; I've never seen her look like that. That's what I love about these dolls so much. With a wig and eye change, their whole expression completely changes. I'm fairly new to BJDs (just over a year) and they are the most interesting, beautiful dolls I've ever owned. I'm completely under their spell. I've been BJD-bespelled!

We want to extend a great big thank you to Sher, Jeremiah Blue and Shawn for taking time out of their day to spend with Dollicieux.

Is one of your dolls just dying for more attention? Have a shrinking violet you'd love to show off? Perhaps they'd like to be featured in our Spotlight. Just email us if you're interested in making a submission. spotlight@dollicieux.com
